General Questions

Why do all products show as NOT AVAILABLE?

Measurements must be entered as millimetres otherwise a note saying "not available'' will show on all colour options.

If your are entering millimetre sizes and it is still showing as "not available" it could be that the size is outside the specifications, for example too big or too small.

What is the expected manufacturing time?

Product turnaround varies. Refer to individual products

How can your company have such a fast turnaround?

We have express delivery on certain products as these fabrics are kept in stock in our factory. Products are made on site to assist with fast delivery.

Can I order through your showroom?

You need to place all orders online. You can visit or contact the showroom between 8.30am - 4.30pm for advice.


Measuring

Can we order blinds using the sizes from our house plan or window schedule?

No. Never order off a house plan, you must measure the actual windows, sizes on a plan are never the size of the actual window. Please refer to our step by step measuring guides for detailed advice.

What tools do I require for measuring?

A metal tape measure is the preferred tool for measuring your windows and doors as they give an accurate reading.

A pen or pencil is also handy.

You may require a ladder if your windows are particularly high.

Having a second person is always helpful to hold one end of the tape measure while someone else reads the other end.

Do I need to make any deductions when measuring the blinds?

No. Our computers allow for any deductions specific to each individual blind. All you need to do is measure exactly where you would like the blind to fit.

What is the minimum and maximum width and drop for blinds?

Each product is different. Please refer to the individual product information as different fabrics and products come supplied at different widths and lengths.

Can I link blinds, and how do I measure for them?

Linking blinds means joining 2 separate blinds together with link bracket.
You may need or want to link blinds. For example a sliding door that you may want to go in and out frequently.
Measure the width at the top. Then measure each side from the outer edge to the middle. These 2 meaurements should add up to the full-width measurement.

How do I measure a bay window?

Please contact us for instructions, we will ask you to email us a photo of the window so we can give advice.

How do I measure an irregularly shaped window?

If you have any concerns with measuring please email or phone us and we can offer you advice.


My Orders

How do I track my order?

Go to PBT website and enter your tracking number.

Can I change a blind once I have placed an order?

Unfortunately once an order is placed it cannot be changed. Due to the quick turnaround blinds are processed straight away. If you discover you have made an error please contact us straight away.


Payment Options

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept visa and mastercard credit cards and account to account direct debit.


Delivery

How long will it take to get my product once its been sent?

Delivery will take a few days, it is best to keep an eye on the tracking details we email you. Please allow extra if your address is Rural or if you are in the South Island.

How do my blinds get delivered?

We use PBT Couriers and PBT Transport.

What happens if I'm not home?

The courier company will leave items in a safe place at the specified address or they will leave a card with a contact phone number so you can make arrangements.


Design Advice

Do all blinds need to be the same type and colour?

You can choose whatever type of blind and colour you like. A suggestion is to consider what the product will look like from the outside of the house. Other things to consider include open plan areas having some consistency of colour and type of product. Also think about what you would like the room to look like and what is the purpose of the blind.

How do I colour match blinds to my exisiting blinds or to previous orders?

You can order samples online to ensure colour matches. For advice you can email or phone us.

Can I order or see samples before placing an order?

Yes, this is strongly advised as colours on screen will vary and the do not show texture or opacity. The colour on screen also does not show you the backing colour which also varies fabric to fabric. You can order 10-15 free samples by clicking on the "Order Samples" button. Samples are dispatched on a daily basis and don't take long to arrive.

What blinds are best for UV protection?

Sunscreen roller blinds are perfect for UV protection. We offer a range of different weave openness factors that provide varied degrees of UV protection.

What blinds are best for privacy?

Venetians, Blockout Rollers, Romans and Verticals can all provide privacy.


Child Safety

What is Child Safety?

Child Safety is a guideline for improving the way we manufacture and supply blinds to you. Oslo Blinds is passionate about supplying products that perform to your expectations and give you peace of mind that our blinds are safely operated once in your home.

Therefore we offer Child Safe options such as Child Safe clips for blinds with chain and cord mechanisms. We also supply wand controls on verticals and twist sticks for venetians.

In many countries Child Safety is often imposed by law, so although it is not in New Zealand legislation we still strive to maintain high standards of safety will all of our blinds.

What Child Safe options are available?

Oslo Blinds offers Child Safe clips that fasten blind chains securely in a fixed position.

We also offer an improved system with the vertical blinds that uses wand control as opposed to cords.

Romans can be secured with a cord safe.

We are continually looking for ways to keep our product safe and family friendly.


Warranty

What warranty is provided?

Parts and manufacture comes with a 5 year warranty. Fabrics are covered by the fabric supplier warranty.
